Top 5 raptors players in franchise history

1.                                             Kyle Lowry 2012=present

So Kyle Lowry has gone from instead of getting Steve Nash got who what to the best all round best player in franchise history. He is an all around player as he is third in points (9649), leads in assists (3905), leads in steals (816). Lowry has not only changed the history of the franchise but changed what people thought of him as he was thrown out of both Memphis and Houston because he was not a team guy to becoming a team leader and 6 time all-star.

2.                                             DeMar DeRozan 2009-2018

DeMar DeRozan is a great player who has improved every season he has been in the nba and is the all-time leader in points (13296), third in assists (2078), third in steals (655). DeRozan has proven 2 change the history of the team by the way he played and then traded for that final piece.

3.                                            kawhi Leonard championship season

Kawhi Leonard was the final piece to get to the NBA playoffs finals and along with some guy named Lebron Raymond James headed to the western conference, He knew his body best and sat out regular season games rubbing players, media, and fans alike but when the playoffs he was ready lead the raptors to the Larry o b with his focus and defense. He was in the north 1 season but gave everybody everything he had and i respect him because i do not know how it feels living in 100 degree weather for the first 25 plus years and then living in a canadian winter (what a culture shock).

4.                                              Chris Bosh 2003-10

Chris Bosh was the star of the raptors darkest era in their franchise history between the downfall of vince carter and the arrival of Dwayne Casey with one great season (2006-07). That season ended in misery as Vince  Carter dancing on the raptors hopes and dreams as he won his other playoff series by beating the Raptors as a member of the nets. Chris is the all time leader in blocks (600), rebounds (4776), and second in points (10275).

5.                                              Vince Carter 1998-05

Most people would put air canada 1 or 2 because vinsanity was so cool but that is 3 seasons of 6 plus season in toronto. After signing his extinction he became injury prone  but that is not point it was his reaction to them rolling around on the court and then come out like he was a savvier and would happen time and time again. I got tried of the act and what if  he made a phone call and asked north carolina and asked them to hold onto his diploma til the summer and rested for game 7 in Philadelphia . If he was more motivated he probably would of not been best but with his pure talent and his flare he could of been one of the faces for a lot longer and would of had more than 2 playoff wins (1 with toronto 1 with nets). He is the most talented raptor but lacked the desire to make himself a better player and being remembered as a much more talented player than just a dunker.

top 5 raptors coaches of all time

TOP 5 raptors coaches of all-time

1.              Dwayne Casey 2011-2018

Dwayne Casey like many new coaches/gm in sports when they come in said that he was going to change culture of the Toronto Raptors and unlike most he did just that. So before DC the top 5 moments in Raptors history were 1. a slam dunk competition in 2000. 2. beating the 72-win MJ in 1996and the bulls in front of 43k @ the skydome. 3 taken care of all the lakers except Kobe as he ends up scoring the second most points in a single game 81 in 2006 (Wilt Chamberlain scored 100). 4bVince Carter misses a shot in game 7 in Philadelphia to send the Raptors to Milwaukee for the conference finals in 2001. 5 Raptors beat the new york knicks in game 5 to win their first playoff series in 2001.

After DC and his pound the rock defense first mentality came in 2011 after putting lbj on ice and things just took off after the rudy cay trade in 2013 brought in some happy former Sacramento kings who were willing to by into the system. With the likes Patrick Patterson and Greivis Vasquez they went 42-20 and never looking back and that has been he kind of regular season we have gotten since. We even made the NBA front office vary nervous in 2016 as we pushed lbj cavs to game 6. Dwayne Casey is the raptors all-time win coach @ 320 wins along with a coach of the year trophy and even if people did not like his offense his defense he put in set the ground for a championship.

2.             Nick nurse 2018-present

from coaching a childhood friend to NBA champ he has been around the world a few times europe to the D league to assistant and now the head coach of the 2018-19 holder of the larry o b as best in the  NBA. He find tuned the defense and better the offensive and took the uncertainty of if kawhi was going to play a certain regular season game in stride. He has the second most in raptors history in a season (58) and 104 wins in 146 pretty amazing for a second coach and if they had a full 2019-2020 season he would b second all-time in franchise in wins in only 3 seasons/

3.             Sam mitchell 2004-09

Sam mitchell had a great season in 2006-07 and had the most wins in a season 47 before Dwayne and it a jump of 20 games going from the no.1 pick in the draft(Andrea Bargnani yikes) to a playoff birth and coach of the year. He second most in wins in franchise history with 156.

4.           Butch Carter 1998-2000

Butch Carter or the movie based on part of his college coaching career coach Carter. He was the first ever raptors coach to have a winning season in 1999-2000 season (45) and first playoff birth. He should of been coach longer but his idea of players earning their playing minutes which hurt Tracy McGrady. He did not play as much as wanted to. and left and went home to Orlando and the super of tim duncan, tracy, and grant hill which ended up being tracy and injured grant hill as duncan decided to stay in san antonio.

5.               Lenny Wilkens 2000-03

Lenny Wilkens who was the first Raptors head coach to win a playoff round in 2001 against the knicks and won 113 of his 1332 wins (second most in nba history) as a Raptor head coach.
