Rockets win as the Raptor's have a hell of a second quarter and can't finish in the third

First Quarter

Raptors come out and take a 10-4 with a lot of good energy and the Rockets fight back 12-7 but the Raptors still lead 17-16 while then the Raptors went on 12-0 run and go up 29-16 and finished with a Kleiza 3-ball to go into the second quarter 34-20 (+14). The Raptors were lead by Barbosa (10 points and a board) and Kleiza ( 5 points, 3 boards, 2 assists, and a steal) while Amir Johnson (4 points and 7 boards) had a good quarter but had 2 fouls in 6 minutes and Jose Calderon (4 assists) pass the ball around. The Rockets were lead Kevin Martin had 65% of the Rockets scoring in the quarter (13 of 20 points) while Luis Scola had 3 boards to lead them with rebounds.

Second Quarter

The Raptors have had really bad second quarters and have given up 40 + points in this quarter and the Rockets were treated to another of these horrible second quarter as the Rockets doubled the Raptors 42-21 which meant that the Raptors came in with a 14-point lead and left down 7 going into the half. The Rockets were allowed to go on huge runs which started with the first 9 points to get it down to 5 and then kept going on a 16-11 run to get it to 3 and then the Rockets took a 3-point lead but the Raptors faught back finally to tie it at 52. The Rockets went on a 10-3 run to end the quarter and to give the Rockets a 62-55 lead at half and were helped by their rebounding advantage in the quarter (15-5) along with the Raptors had 7 fouls in the quarter while the Rockets had only 2 which means that the Raptors did not attack the basket enough. The Raptors were lead by Linas Kleiza (8 points and 2 boards) and DeMar and Amir (2 boards and an assist in 5 minutes) both had 4 points in the quarter while the Rockets were lead by Chad Budinger (13 points along with a board, an assist, and a steal), Brad Miller (8 points, 3 boards, and 2 assists), Courtney Lee (7 points, 3 boards, 2 assists, and a steal),and Patrick Patterson (5 points and 6 boards) all off the bench.

Third Quarter

The Raptors could not get the basketball into the hoop and they tried because they had 30 shoots from the floor and only made 7 baskets and they had a number of their rebounds (22 in the quarter) on the offensive glass and went back up and could not get the basket on the second, third, or even the fourth chances. So they needed to go back up a lot stronger so that if they were not able to slam it into the basket they would of been sent to the line for free throw shots (eventhough the raptors had 8 free throw attempts in the quarter and 7 in the first half). Eventhough the Raptors could not finish the Rockets let them stay in the game as the Raptors went on a late 10-3 to get it down to 3 and then the Rockets ended the quarter with the last 6 points to take a 9-point lead. The Raptors were lead by DeMar DeRozan (2 boards) had 13 of the 19 points (5 of 7 from the line) and Joey Dorsey was able to get boards in the quarter (7 boards) but could not finish (5 offensive boards with only 1 point) along with Kleiza ( 4 boards with 2 offensive and no points) and Jose Calderon (2 points, 2 assists, 4 boards, and an offensive board). The Rockets were lead by Martin (7 points, a board, and a steal) snd Scola (7 points, 3 boards, and a block) went off in the quarter.

Fourth Quarter

The Raptors did not play very good defense and the rebounding that had kept the Raptors in the third quarter did not happen early in the quarter and the Rockets took a huge 16-point lead but the Raptors did faught back and got it back to 8 and almost less than that. The Raptors were lead by DeMar DeRozan (16 points and a board) along with Calderon (3 points, 3 assists, and 4 boards) and Kleiza (3 points, 3 boards, and an assist) and the Rockets were lead by Chase Budinger (7 points, 2 assists, and a board), Patrick Patterson (6 points and 4 boards), and Courtney Lee (5 points, a rebound, and an assist).

Final Thoughts

The Second Quarter was a huge disappointment and needs to stop because if use give up 40 + points in a quarter you will not win a game and the ability to not finish off their scoring chances in the third was troublesome as well but if the second was better the Raptors would of been in a good position to win the game. DeMar DeRozan had a career game with 37 and 16 in the fourth (5 of 7 from the line in the third and 6 for 6 from the line in the fourth) while Kleiza and Barbosa both had 17 points in the game but the 65 points from the Rockets bench. The Raptors needed to do more with their 53 rebounds (especially the 19 offensive boards) but Jose Calderon was back and played well as he had 11 assists and more opportant only 1 turnover and the Raptors will need Bargnani to return to action on Sunday aganist the Boston Celtrics.

preview of Raptors/Rockets

The Raptors will still be without Andrea Bargnani and Jose Calderon and Ed Davis are questionable and it would be nice to have Calderon back would be great but if Ed Davis is not playing it will be hard to replace his heart and effort on the court and will be more of a negative than if Sonny Weems coming back would be a positive.

The Raptors played one of their beat games in their history on Tuesday night where they brought their hard hats and lunch boxs and truly out worked the Dallas Mavericks and will have to bring the same effort and passion aganist the Houston Rockets tonight. One thing that could change in tonight's game for the better would be if Linas Kleiza keeps his cool and does not get kicked out of the game especially because he is a Raptor that can score. The Raptors are going to play really tough defense and make Kevin Martin (23.6 point per point) earn his points along with Luis Scola (20.3 points per game) who the Raptors need to keep him off the glass because he is the guy getting rebounds for the Rockets (8.4. boards per game) and that is more than 2.5 rebounds than the next highest total Chuck Hayes (5.9 per game). Kyle Lowry is the guy that handle the ball (7.2 assists per game) so the Raptors need to pressure him to throw bad passes and creat turnovers and the Raptors will need to have either Jose Calderon or Jerryd Bayless (both questionable) to play because have Barbosa playing the whole game @ the point as he is not a real point guard. The Raptors will need to have Kleiza (11.8 point per game) and DeRozan (13.0 point per game) putting up points and the team will need to follow the lead of Ed Davis (probably will play) and Joey Dorsey as they are hard working players that work for every inch of the court especially on the offensive and defensive glass.

The Raptors play their first full 48 minute game in quite a while

The Mavs were without the Big Dirk who got injuried in their road victory last night aganist the thunder while the Raptors have Bargnani back in T.O., Sonny Weems not playing, and Jose Calderon also not in the game tonight while Amir Johnson played with a bad back.

First Quarter

Like most other starts to Raptors games the first quarter gives fans hope for a good game and tonight was no different as the Raptors took a 14-7 lead early and than the Mavs got the next 4 points to make it 14-11 and the Raptors ended the quarter on a 9-2 run to take a 23-13 lead into the hell that has been the second quarter. The Raptors were lead by DeMar DeRozan (a board, an assist, and a steal) and what for it Ed Davis (6 boards, 2 steals, and 2 blocks) both 7 points in the first quarter while Jerryd Bayless (4 boards, a steal, and 3 assists aganist 1 turnover) did everything like a good point guard. For the Mavs Former Raptor (cup of coffee anyone) Shawn Marion (8 points and 2 boards) while should be Raptor (thanks MJ) Tyson Chandler (4 boards along with a steal) was a monster on the glass in the quarter. The Raptors out rebounded (15-12) and out assisted (5-1) the Mavs as they were really working hard with only 13 points given up (thanks Mavs 0 for 6 from 3).

Second Quarter

The hell of a quarter starter with the Raptors scoring the first 2 points to go up 12 (25-13) and then the Mavs scored the next 12 points to tie at 25 and then but what the after it being 29-all the Raptors went on a 17-4 run to open their biggest lead of the game at 13 points (46-33). then Mavs scored the last 7 points of the first half (Raptors lead 46-40 going into the second half). The Raptors were lead by Linas Kleiza (10 points and an assist) and Ed Davis (5 points, 4 boards, with a steal and a block) and the Raptors have 11 turnovers and 10 assists @ half while the Mavs were lead by Caron Buttler (10 points and a steal) while the Jason X 2 had 2 boards with Kidd (1 assist) and Terry (3 assists and 7 points). Jose Juan Barea (7 points, 4 assists, and a board along with a steal) had a quarter himself and the Mavs out rebounded (8-7) and out assisted (10-5) in this quarter but the Raptors going into half.

Third Quarter

The Raptors come out in the third quarter and scored the first 7 points to take another 13 point lead (are these really the Raptors playing, amazing) but the Mavs still work it back to 5 points going into the fourth quarter. as the Mavs outscored the Raptors 19-11 the rest of the quarter. The Raptors were lead by Joey Dorsey (6 boards along with an assist and a steal) and DeMar DeRozan who both had 5 points while the Mavs were lead by Jason Terry (4 points and 2 assists) and Brian Cardinal (5 points and a board). Also in the quarter Kleiza gets called on a foul and walks back on defense and not happy about the call and tells the ref and then he gets a techical foul and he goes to the bench to cool down but on the way to the bench he keeps talking to the ref and the ref gives him a second tech and he is out for the game. The Raptors out rebounded (10-5) and the assists were tied @ 5 so the Raptors are taking a 5 point lead into the fourth quarter aganist Mavs(24-5) and their on the road is it really possible?

Fourth Quarter

The Raptors were up by 3 early in the final quarter and then Jerryd Bayless is injuried and is out for the rest of the game and Barbosa who is not a real point guard has to play the rest of the game at the point and the Raptors fight back and win the game 84-76 and give the Mavs their 6 lose of the season and 4 @ home. The Raptors were lead by Barbosa (6 points with 2 assists and 2 boards) while Ed Davis (3 boards) and Amir Johnson (a board and an assist) both had 5 points while DeMar DeRozan (4 points, 2 boards, an an assist) while the Mavs were lead by Jason Terry (7 points with a board and an assist) and jason Kidd (4 points with 2 boards and an assist).

Final Thoughts

The Raptors played really hard and they faught for every board and when the Mavs cut into the lead the Raptors had a reply for them everytime and it started with Ed Davis in the first half and Joey Dorsey only played the third was as good as last night (foul trouble in the first quarter and Davis was better tonight). If the team followed their examples more the Raptors would be more respectible and the Raptors would not be looking at 40 point second quarter or 60 - 70 point first halfs for their opponents and then the bad part of the game besides Bayless injury was that Linas Kleiza on a no question travel goes into business for himself and gets kicked out of the game. In the end the Raptors played like a team for once and work hard while the Mavs shoot 3's that did not fall (5-22).

Next game Friday

nearly perfect first and a disasterous second took the raptors from being in the game to being out of the game

First Quarter

The Raptors faught for every inch of the court and even when they missed a shot Raptors would be hitting the glass and getting the rebound (12-9) and Memphis coughed up the ball 6 times for 7 points while the Raptors coughed it up 4 times and for only 2 points. The Raptors were lead by Kleiza (10 points and 2 boards) along with Jose Calderon (6 points and 2 assists) and DeMar DeRozan (5 points and 2 boards) while Joey Dorsey and Ed Davis both had 3 boards. The Raptors took control of the quarter with a 10-2 run in 2:32 and the biggest problem in the quarter was that they only had 2 assists in the quarter. Rudy Gay (5 points, 2 boards, and 2 steals) and Darrell Arthur (4 points and a board) while Zach Randolph (4 boards and 2 assists) was a monster on the glass for the Grizzlies in the quarter but the Raptors are up 24-16.

Second Quarter

Ofcourse the Raptors are horrrible in the second quarter with the Raptors with 7 turnovers in the quarter as the Grizzlies had a 28-10 run until the final shot with a 3-ball with Calderon and the Raptors are down 48-44 going into the second half. The Grizzlies were lead by Rudy Gay (8 points, 3 steals, and an assist) along with Zach Randolph and Tony Allen ( 3 steals, 2 boards, and an assist)have 6 points while Mike Conley had 3 assists and Rudy Gay had 3 steals in the quarter. The Raptors were lead by Jose Calderon (2 assists, 2 boards, 2 turnovers, and a steal) and Jerryd Bayless ( 3 turnovers and an assist) with 5 points each while the role model of the team was Joey Dorsey (4 points, 3 boards, and a steal) and the players should follow his lead never giing up on any play.

Third Quarter

The Grizzlies outscored the Raptors 8-0 to end the quarter to give the Grizzlies a 14 point lead and now lead 77-63 and the Raptors had 4 turnovers not to much after 10 in the second quarter. The Grizzlies were lead by Zach Randolph (8 points, 3 boards, and an assist), Mike Conley (7 points, 2 assists, and a steal), and Tony Allen (6 points, 2 boards, and a stesl) while Rudy Gay (3 boards, 3 assists, and 2 points) did everything else. The Raptors were lead by Linas Kleiza (7 points, a board, and a block) and DeMar DeRozan (6 points and an assists) while Jose Calderon had 4 assists with no turnovers and the Raptors have been outscored 61 - 39 (-22 with 14 turnovers) and with the rebounds (16-11) in the second and third quarter combined.

Fourth Quarter

The Raptors get the lead down to 7 with 5:30 left in the game and can not pull off the miricle again as the Grizzlies win 96-85 as Joey Dorsey had 7 boards and was getting dirty all game at the basket and got 6 points before he got his 6 foul and was out of the game. DeMar took advantage of the fourth (4 points with an assist and a board) and so did Barbosa (6 points with an assist and a board) but 7 turnovers killed any chance of a full comeback tonight. The Grizzlies were lead by Zach Randolph (7 points and a rebound) and O.J. Mayo (4 points) along Tony Allen (4 boards, 2 steals, and an assist).

Final Thoughts

The Raptors were active crashing the glass and stopping the Grizzlies from scoring with only 16 points in the first quarter but the second quarter killed them again (32-20) and the end of the third where the Grizzlies scored the last 8 points to take a 14-point lead into the final quarter also did not hurt. The Raptors player of the game was Joey Dorsey who was crashing the glass hard all game getting boards or keeping the ball alive for another player to have a chance he was not able to get to hands on it but he needs to work on his free throws (0 for 5). While Kleiza lead in points (22) and turnovers (5) for the Raptors and DeMar DeRozan had 18 points was only 4-8 from the free throw line where the Raptors were a disasterous 5 for 14 in the game. The Raptors had 21 turnovers after the first (10 in the second and 7 in the fourth) and Jose Calderon had 9 assists but 4 turnovers (2 in the fourth) and The Grizzlies wanted to keep the Raptors in the game with their turnovers (21 which is a lot until u see the Raptors with 25).The Raptors will need an all around game with everybody getting dirty and working hard to beat Dallas tomorrow who are 24-5 after win on the road tonight.

See U tomorrow

Raptors are off their Christmas holiday and facing the Grizzlies tonight

Raptors @ Grizzlies

The Raptors are going to play without Andrea Bargnani and Amir Johnson along with Paja and Reggie nowhere near ready to start playing again and Paja probably not play another minute in a Raptors jersey but will help the Raptors go into the free agancy period and try to reset the francise once again.

Tonight the Raptors will be out skilled by the Grizzlies but in reality playing defense does not take talent but takes heart and passion like if you fight for a rebound you have a lot better chance of getting it than if you let the Grizzlies surround the basket and have no problem getting the rebound instead. Also if you are in front of a Grizzlies player and not just let them go to the basket for a dunk it will mean that they will need to work harder and really actually work for their points instead of the Raptors giving them the points. Then on offense the Raptors will need to pass the ball around to find the open shot ie best shot possible and it will need to start with Jose Calderon distribating the ball and unlike the last game Vs Detroit Pistons he will need to go for the higher % pass than the lower % pass while everybody will need to play hard and play as a team to the team a chance to win the game.

The Grizzlies(13-17) are coming off a 14 point win in Indiana (104-90) over the Pacers last night and they have won the last 3 aganist the Raptors and 6 of 7 aganist the Raptors @ home. They will be lead by Rudy Gay (20.9 points and 6.2 boards a game) and Zack Randolph (12.6 boards and 17.8 points) will hard to handle on the glass and can take down a lot of rebounds especially if the Raptors do not contest the glass and do not take down rebounds and Mike Conley (7.1 assists per game) will be the Grizzlie who will be handling the ball and the guy the Raptors need to pressure to creat turnovers and extra possions throughout the game.

See u after the game Go Raptors Go

First Quarter

The Raptors have been passing the ball around (9 assists) and been getting rebounds (10) but are still down 1, 24-23 and are lead by DeMar DeRozan (6 points, 3 assists, and 3 boards) and Linas Kleiza (8 points, 4 boards, an assist) while Jose Calderon (5 assists / 2 turnovers) is helping a lot. Detroit Pistons are lead by Rodney Stuckey (11 points, a board, and an assist) and Charlie Villanueva (6 points, 3 boards, and an assist) while Ben Gorden (4 boards) so the Raptors need to continue to pass the ball and get easy shots while toughing up on defense.

Second Quarter

Just like most game the Raptors had a very bad second quarter with 10 turnovers and 16 points off this turnovers in the quarter helped the Pistons outscored 38-21 and the turnovers started with Jose Calderon with 3 turnovers and 4 assists which means he was trying too hard. Former Raptor Tracy McGrady (15 points, 4 assists, 3 steals, 2 boards) distroyed the Raps in the quarter along with Richard Hamilton (11 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals) both coming off the bench while Charlie Villanueva (6 points, a steal, snd an assist). The Raptors were lead by Andrea Bargnani ( 7 points and 2 boards) and Barbosa (5 points, a board, and an assist.

Third Quarter

The Raptors gave up 7 more turnovers and the Pistons got 10 points off them and the Pistons were lead by Rodney Stucky (8 points, 2 steals, a board, and an assist) and Charlie Villanueva (6 points and a board) and the rest had 9 points. The Raptors on the other hand were lead by Kleiza (7 points and 2 boards) and Barbosa (6 points) and 3 Raptor assist aganist those 7 turnovers in the quarter and the Pistons had more rebounds (9-6).

Fourth Quarter

The Raptors only 4 turnovers compared to 10 and 7 in the second and third quarter respectiable but the Pistons outscored the Raptors 30-25 in the final quarter lead by Richard Hamilton (19 points and a board) who send a huge message to everybody in the league which was I can still play this game. Julian Wright (6 points, 2 assists, and 4 boards)got play and Barbosa (10 points, 3 assists but 2 turnovers) got a big run with Sonny Weems out for the game but both off the bench which means the starters did not have as good a game.

Final Thoughts

The Raptors had 23 turnovers and 16 turnovers in the middle of the part of the game Jose Calderon had 8 turnovers in the game while having 13 assists and this is because he was trying for much tougher passes than usual maybe this is because Bayless was not playing and he felt he needed to do even more and should not be going for the difficult assists. Kleiza was the best of the starters (19 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, and a steal) while Barbosa (21 points, 4 assists, and a board) was the best off the bench while Julian Wright in 17 minutes lead the Raptors in rebounds with 6 and Andrea Bargnani went to the line the most for the Raptors (4 for 7) and also took the most shots (6 for 17). The Raptors still need to find the passion to play defense because defense is how you win games as the less your opponents score means the better chance of winning the game and if you play defense you can get your offense working off defense stops (steals and defensive rebounds) and turnovers while getting offensive boards continue the offensive possions. The Raptors need the holiday break to reset their game and get better going into the year 2011.

Lakers beat Raptors with help from a very good second quarter

The Raptors up aganist Kobe and the Lakers and the Raptors are with out Andrea Bargnani so they need Amir Johnson to set-up and stay on the court because he only played 8 minutes in the first half of Friday games aganist the Nets.

First Quarter

Amir Johnson pl;ayed all 12 minutes in the first quarter (12 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, and an assist) and the Raptors need to play tough inside the paint on both ends of the floor because they should be make the Lakers shooting jumpers instade of dunks like their 10-1 run to take a 32-24 lead late in the quarter and are leading 34-28 after 1. The Raptors are also lead by Jose Calderon (3 assists) and Linas Kleiza (3 boards and an assist) both with 7 points while Davis has 3 boards too and Kobe who had 9 points Vs the Sixers on Friday has 9 points in the first quarter with a board and an assists while Ron Artest (6 points), Andrew Bynum (5 points and 2 boards), Lamar Odem (3 boards) are helping him. The Raptors need to be more active on defense to not give up easy points and the Raptors need to force the ball the hoop.

Second Quarter

The Raptors are 3 for 14 from the floor in the quarter as they were out scored 29-15 as the Lakers took a 57-49 which is a 14 point swing in the quarter and the Raptors Barbosa (6 points) and DeRozan (4 points and the only assist of the quarter) and four players a board in the quarter. The Lakers were lead by Lamar Odem (3 boards) and Pau Gasol (3 boards and 2 assists) both 6 points each as the Lakers out rebounded the Raptors 14-4 and had 14 second chance points and more assists (4-1) but if the Raptors want to get back into the game pass the ball and get the boards by using your active hands.

Third Quarter

The Lakers started the quarter on a 16-10 run to take a 73-57 lead and then the Raptors went on a 15-3 run to get it to 4 points (76-72) and the leader for the Raptors in the quarter was DeMar DeRozan who had 19 of the Raptor's 30 points in the quarter and Jose Calderon had 5 assists of the Raptors 8 assists. Joey Dorsey had 4 boards of the Raptors 11 and Kleiza had 4 points and 2 boards in the quarter. While Kobe(9 points, 2 boards, and an assist) was back in the third after no points in 5 minutes in the second quarter and Pau Gasol (6 points, 3 boards, and an assist) helped him out this quarter and then at the end of the quarter Barbosa a buzzer beating 3-ball to cut the Lakers lead to 86-79 and the Raptors could keep it respectible aganist the Lakers with some rebounds and tough D in the final Quarter.

Fourth Quarter

The Raptors lose the game 120-110 and were lead by Kleiza in the quarter (12 points and 4 boards) and in the game (26 points and 10 boards) while Jose Calderon had 4 assists and 11 points in the quarter and the Lakers were lead by Matt Barnes (8 points, 4 boards, and an assist), Andrew Bynum (6 points and 4 boards), Shannon Brown (6 points) all off the bench.

Final Thoughts

If the Raptors played the kind of defense they played (zone defense) this game more often the Raptors would win more than they lose and the second quarter was very distructive being out scored 29-15 and out rebounded 14-3 and the most showing thing is that the Raptors had one assist. DeMar DeRozan who has problems from the free throw line was 11 for 11 while the resat of the team went 10 for 14 from the line and Kleiza had a great fourth quarter (12 points and 4 boards), Calderon had a good fourth (11 points and 4 assists), DeRozan had a great third (19 points), and Amar Johnson had a great first quarter (12 points, 2 boards, and 3 assists). This is great but if you can get more than a quarter out of a player the team would be better and hopefully they can play 48 minutes Wednesday aganist the Pistons as the Pistons will be out for revenage after losing after being up 25 in the third.

See u Wednesday

Game 27 - Nets not good enough yet as the Raptors win in the final quarter

The Raptors have both Andrea Bargnani and Jose Calderon are back in the starting lineup and the Raptors should have a good chance to play great defense and pass the ball a lot and cream the New Jersey Nets tonight.

First Quarter

The defense was not good enough as the Nets lead 23-21 as the Raptors had 5 turnovers and the Nets only 1 but the Raptors did out assist the Nets 6-4 and with rebounds too 16-12 and of the 5 fouls the Raptors (Amir Johnson had 2 and sat after 4 minutes). The Raptors are lead by Linas Kleiza (6 points, 5 boards, an assist) and DeMar DeRozan (7 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 blocks) while Ed Davis (3 boards) and Jose Calderon (4 assists). The Nets were lead by Devin Harris (7 points, a steal, and an assist) and Kris Humphries (4 points, 4 boards, and 2 assists) while Travis Outlaw (3 boards)and the Raptors shoot 40.9% and the Nets shoot 37.5%.

Second Quarter

The Nets shoot 52.3% in the quarter and took 6 point lead 48-42 and the Raptors Bargnani has all of his 8 first half points in this quarter with 2 boards and Barbosa 5 points in the quarter too and Kleiza (4 boards and 2 assists). The Nets are lead by Devin Harris (2 boards and 2 assists), Derrick Favors(2 boards), John Petro ( a board ) all had 4 points and the Raptors need to play defense, pass the ball, and going to the line and they can still win this winnable game.

Third Quarter

The Raptors tied the game @ 51 and than the Nets went on a 7-0 run and the Raptors fought back to get it back to 2 points, 71-69 after 3 quarter and were lead by Andrea Bargnani (13 points and 2 boards) along with Jose Calderon (6 points and 5 assists) and Kleiza (6 points). The Nets were lead by Brook Lopez (8 points, a board, and an assist) and Travis Outlaw (6 points) along with Devin Harris (2 boards and 2 assists along with 2 points) and the Nets more rebounds (8-4) and the Raptors more assists (8-5) and the Nets shoot 55.6% in the quarter.

Fourth quarter

Raptors took a 2 point lead and then the Nets went on a 8-0 to take a 6 point lead and then the Raptors went on 16-2 run to take a 8 point lead and the Nets came back with a 6-0 run to be down 2 points and the Rsptors won the game by 6 as they won 98-92. The Raptors were lead by Andrea Bargnani (11 points, 3 boards, 2 assists) and Jose Calderon (5 points and 3 assists) along with Kleiza (4 points and 3 boards along with an assist) while the Nets were lead by Brook Lopez (7 points and 4 boards), Jordan (5 points,a board, 2 assists), Travis Outlaw (5 points and an assist).

Final Thoughts

The Raptors were lead by Andrea Bargnani (32 points,9 boards, 3 assists, and 2 blocks) after nothing in the first quarter while Calderon (15 points, 14 assists, 3 boards) but he had 3 turnovers (6 assists) in the first half and 1 turnover (8 assists) in the second half and Kleiza (18 points, 12 boards, and 4 assists) was a great third option tonight. The Raptors beat up a bad Nets team and if they played better in the middle of the game the Raptors could have been less than 92 Nets points and the Raptors were lucky to be playing the Nets and they need to have a better all around game Sunday Vs the Lakers.

Nice to have 10 wins

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

The Raps are hurting with Jose Calderon still out and now Andrea Bargnani is also out with a sore foot and now they face the Chicago Bulls who have a 6 game winning streak.

First Quarter

The Raps are down 23-18 after first quarter and the Bulls are turning it over a lot more (6-1) and have taken a shoot less (20-19) which means the Bulls when they protect the ball they are shooting well and the Raps need to pass the ball around more (4 assists) and they have more steals too (3-1). The Bulls are lead by Carlos Boozer (9 points, 4 boards, and an assist) and Luoi Deng (6 points), Joakim Noah (6 or the 15 boards in the quarter), Derrick Rose (4 assists) also helped as well. The Raptors are being killed on the glass (15-8) and the Bulls are shootin 9 for 19 ansd the Raps are shooting 8 for 20 while Jerryd Bayless (a board and an assist) and DeMar DeRozan (2 steals) both have 6 points and Ed Davis has half of the Raps (4 of 8). OK the Raps had a good quarter and if the Raps clean up the boards they can have a good game and keep it respectful.

Second Quarter

RESPECTFUL please the Bulls got 40 points (16 for 23 from the floor) and shooting 59.5 in the half and out rebounded the Raps 13-3 (28-11 in the half) with 8 assists compared 2 for the Raps. The Bulls were lead by Carlos Boozer (12 points and 4 boards) and Kyle Korver (10 points and 3 assists) and Ronnie Brewer (6 points and 3 boards) while Joakim Noah (3 boards). The Raps were lead by Barbosa (7 points) and Jerryd Bayless (6 points) and they are behind by 19 at half trailing 63-44 and the Raps if they want to be competitive they need to start by getting dirty on defense instead of only caring about the glory of the offense and I do not care who is playing /who is not.

Third Quarter

The Raptors have 64 and the Bulls had 63 at half and the Bulls outscored the Raptors in the quarter 28-20 and are trailing 91-64 and the Raptors need to play with more passion and get dirty on De-fense and the Raptors were lead by Joey Dorsey (7 points and 4 boards and a block) and Barbosa (4 points, a board, an assist) while Ed Davis had 6 boards in the quarter. The Raptors had 3 assists and the Raptors out rebounded the Bulls 14-10 but the Bulls were 11 for 19 from the floor and the Raptors were 10 for 27 from the floor and the Bulls were lead by Caarlos Boozer (14 points, 4 boards, 2 steals, and an assist along with a block) while Joakim Noah (5 points and 2 boards) along with Derrick Rose (6 assists).

Fourth Quarter

The Raptors started 16-4 to begin the quarter and down 15 points and it is the bench players doing all the damage lead by Joey Dorey while Kleiza who had a bad 11 minutes in the other 3 quarter and Ed Davis (4 points) has a double-double along with Joey Dorsey (8 boards and 2 points) and Barbosa (10 points, 2 boards, an assist). The Raptors had 10 assists in the quarter and 9 in the rest of the game lead by Sonny Weems (3 of his 5 assists in the quarter) and they also out rebounded 12-9 (Tai Gibson 5 boards) in the quarter while out scored the Bulls 29-19 (Loui Deng with 9 points).

Final Thoughts

The Raptors need to bring more passion especially on defense and if bench players are getting to start and get destroyed like Bayless (9 for 15 from the floor, 20 points, only 4 assists) and no decision making ablity yet and Amir Johnson with 3 boards it is a real bad sign because bench players should want the opportunity to start and should show it on the floor. Carlos Boozer (34 points and 12 boards) and the other starters had 32 points and the Raptors could not stop him eventhough nobody was close to his production because Loui Deng was second with 19 points (9 in the final quarter). Barbosa (21 points ) lead the team while Sonny Weems ( 5 assists compared to 4 turnover with 7 points where he was 3 for 10 from the floor) but Dorsey (13 boards and 12 points) and Ed Davis (10 points and 10 boards) with double-doubles. The Bulls had 40 points and over 70% shooting in the second and if you want to win you can not have these kind of quarter and the Nets are visting on Friday snd they need to play much better.

Better Lucky Friday,

Game 24 - first quarter very good and they slipped all the other 36 minutes

The Bobcats took a 12-4 lead to open the game and then the Raps went on a 22-2 run to take a 26-14 and then the Bobcats went on a 6-0 run to cut the lead to 26-20 and then the final shoot of the quarter was Andrea Bargnani who netted a 3-ball to make the score 29-20 after 1. The Raps outreboinded the Bobcats 15-9 and only had 2 turnovers while they had 7 assists and the Bobcats had 5 turnovers while they also had 7 assists. Amir Johnson (4 boards and 2 steals) and DeMar DeRozan (4 boards and an assist) both have 6 points each while Jerryd Bayless (4 assists and a steal) and Andrea Bargnani (2 boards and a block) both have 5 points. The Bobcats Nazr Mohammed (6 points, 2 boards, an assist, and a steal) along with DJ Augustin (4 points, a board, and 2 assists) and Stephen Jackson (3 boards and 3 assists along with a 2 points) so the Raps had a much more balanced attack than the Bobcats.

Second Quarter

The Raps lead at half 53-47 so that the Bobcats outscored 27-24 in the quarter and outrebounded 9-7 but the Raps got more assists 6-5 and most important stat of the second quarter is that the Raps had 8 turnovers. The Raps were lead by Jerryd Bayless (6 points and 2 assists) and Amir Johnson (3 points and 3 boards) while Barbosa and Kleiza both had 4 points off the bench and the Raps did get to free throw line going 6-11 in the quarter. The Bobcats were lead by Gerald Wallace (6 points, 2 boards, and 2 steals) and Nazr Mohammed (5 points and 2 boards) while off the bench Kwame Brown (4 points and 3 boards) and the Raps lost some of their shooting touch in the quarter but still past the ball well.

Third Quarter

The game is tied @ 72 going into the final 12 so that the Bobcats won the quarter 25-19 but the Raps only had 2 turnovers in the quarter after 8 in the second quarter and the Raps were lead by Jerryd Bayless (4 points and 3 assists) while Amir Johnson (3 points and 5 boards) and Sonny Weems had 4 points. The Bobcats were Nazr Mohammed (7 points and 4 boards) and Gerald Wallance (5 points and an assist) while off the bench Tyrus Thomas (7 points and a board) and Kwame Brown (3 boards and 2 points) and they outrebounded the Raps 14-10 and the Raps 5-8.

Fourth Quarter

The Bobcats outscored 25-19 in the quarter and won the game 97-91 and the Raps did not get to the free throw line and both had 11 boards in the quarter and the Bobcats had Stephen Jackson, Tyrus Thomas, and Kwame Brown (5 boards) had 4 points in the quarter and Boris Diaw (2 boards and 2 assists). The Raps were lead by Barbosa had 8 points Andrea Bargnani (2 points and 3 boards) and Bobcats out assists 8-4 in the quarter.

Final Thought

The Raps started out very well with a 22-2 run and had 15 boards and 7 assists and had 28 boards in the last 3 quarters and had 13 assists in the first half and 8 assists in the second half and they got outscored in all of last 3 quarters of the game. The Raps started slipping after the first and did not stop until the game is over and Bayless was the Raps best scorer with 17 and 9 assists (none in the fourth) and Amir had 12 boards (none in the fourth) and 12 points but in reality Bargnani went 4 for 14 (12 points) from the floor in the game and it is not good having one of your best player being so cold. All you can hope is that Jose Calderon and his sore foot is ready for Wednesday @ home Vs Bulls which they need a good performance.

see u tommorrow

Game 24 = Biggest comeback in Raptors history

First Quarter

The Pistons scored 6 straight points to tak a 21-20 lead and then the Pistons took a 29-28 lead into the second quarter. Ed Davis had 3 boards to lead the team in the quarter and Andrea Bargnani (8 points and a rebound) and Jerryd Bayless (4 points, 2 boards, 2 assists) and the Raptors had 8 turnovers which lead to 14 piston's points but shoot 79% and the pistons shoot 48% in the quarter. Tayshaun Prince (8 point and 2 boards) and Rodney Stuckey (10 points 1 assist) for the Pistons lead the Pistons along with Ben Wallace (6 points, 5 boards, and 2 assists) was an all around baller in the first quarter.

Second Quarter

The Pistons scored 43 points and took a 72 (2 less than they gave up the night before) - 53 to take a 19 point lead into half and the Pistons were lead by Charlie Villanueva (12 points and a board) and Tracy McGrady (6 points and 3 boards) so former Raptors went off in the quarter and Rodney Stuckey (8 points) along with Tayshaun Prince (4 points, 5 boards, an assist) kept it rolling from the first quarter. The Raptors 7had 7 turnovers (3 offensive) that turned into 16 points while the Raptors offensively were lead by Jerryd Bayless (9 points and a board) while DeRozan and Barbosa both had 5 points and The Raptors had a horrible second quarter with the Pistons going on a 13-3 run early in the quarter and then another 17-4 run late. The Raptors had turnovers that lead to 13 points and the Pistons bench out scored the Raptors 33-12 in the first half.

Third Quarter

The Pistons went on a 13-3 run run to open a 25 point lead, 89-64 with 5:54 left in the third quarter and the Raptors finished the quarter on a 7-1 run and after the Pistons took the 25 point lead the Raps played shut down defense and had only 3 turnovers for 6 points in the quarter.

Fourth Quarter

Leandro Barbosa came in and was the point guard that the Raps were missing as Jose Calderon did not make the trip to Detroit as the Raptors out scored the Pistons 19-7 in the first 6:30 of the fourth quarter and 26-8 since late in the third quarter and the Pistons had 6 turnovers to help the Raps. Then when they went down 110-104 and then the Raptors made the next 3 shoots (all 3-balls) to take a 113-110 and with the game tied 110-110 Bargnani hit a 3-ball to give the Raps their first lead since the first quarter 20-19 and out scored the pistons 10-6 down to the buzzer to win 120-116 and the 25 point comeback is the biggest in francise history and the Pistons had 44 points in the second half.

Final Thoughts

The Raptors were lucky that it was the Pistons as they tried to be too fancy especially in the fourth quarter when they could have slowed the game down and squeezed the life out of the Raptors and win the game. The Raps gave up 43 points in the second quarter and then 44 in the second half and out scored the Pistons in the last 18 minutes of the game 56-27 and Jerryd Bayless (31 points, 7 assists, and 5 boards) tied a career high in points but Barbosa was able to control the offense better (22 points, 7 assists, and 3 boards) as he had half the turnovers (2 compared to 4) of Bayless. Bargnani going 4 for 6 from 3 helped his #'s (22 points,5 boards, and 3 assists) and the Raps got a team effort on the glass with 4 players with 5 rebounds (Bayless, Amir Johnson, Bargnani, and Ed Davis) and everybody except for Sonny Weems (0) had atleast 2 boards in the game and Julian Wright had 4 of the Raps 9 steals in the game to help give the Raps more offensive possessions. Finally the Raptors can not play like this again and need to come out with a 48 minute effort aganist the Bobcats and lets hope Calderon will be over his cold by the game.

Sorry it took so long

Game 23 - shootout @ the ACC in the first Half

Denver

Nene Hilario (C) Shelden Williams (F) Gary Forbes(F)
Arron Afflalo (SG) Chauncey Billups(PG)

Toronto

Amir Johnson (F) Andrea Bargnani (C) Sonny Weems (F)
Jerryd Bayless (PG) DeMar DeRozan (SG)

First Quarter

With Jose Calderon out with a cold so Jarryd Bayless (2 assists) has his first Raptor start and Bargnani (9 points and an assist) and Sonny Weems (6 points along with 3 boards and 3 assists) are leading the Raps while DeRozan and Barbosa have 6 each and they had 7 assists. Chauncey Billups-Nene Hilario had 19 of the Nuggets 21 points and Chauncey Billups (15 points and an assist) and Nene (10 points and 2 boards) and with a Nugget lead of 39-33 after 1 nobody played defense.

Second Quarter

The non-defense game continued as the Nuggets gave up their most points (74) in a half at home and the Raptors had 65 points and were down 9 at half. Al Harrington (16 points with 5 boards and 3 assists) and Nene (7 points with 2 boards and an assist) lead the Nuggets while Billups passed the ball around (3 assists) and the Nuggets went 6 for 12 for 3 and shoot 62.5% in the quarter. Kleiza aganist his old team (17 points and 7 boards) and Jarryd Bayless (2 assists) with Bargnani (3 points and 2 steals) and Barbosa (4 points, a board, a steal, and 2 assists). The Nuggets take the 74-65 lead into the half with a lot help from a 15-4 run to end the quarter.

Third Quarter

With the Nuggets winning the quarter 24-21 it means that both teams have played much better in the quarter and the Nuggets out rebounded the Raps 14-4. The Nuggets were lead by Gary Forbes (13 points, 3 boards, and 2 steals and Nene (5 points along with a board and an assist) and the Raptors were lead by Barbosa (8 points) and Sonny Weems (6 points along with a steal and a board). The Nuggets lead by 98-86 and the Raps need to get a better defense effort in the final quarter and keep them from making 3's.

Fourth Quarter

The Raptors outscored the Nuggets 32-25 and they were lead by Bargnani (9 points with 2 boards along with an assist and a steal) and Sonny Weems (7 points with a board and an assist) while Kleiza (5 points with 3 boards and an assist) and Barbosa (4 points) kept up their above average games. The Nuggets were lead by Al Harrington (10 points)while Billup and J.R. Smith both had 2 boards and the Nuggets were out rebounded 10-7 and the 2 teams tied with 4 assists each.

Final Thoughts

The Raptors were killed the 15-4 Nugget run to end the first half as the Raps were up 61-59 and had their first lead of the game and they went into the half down 9 (74-65) and with both teams tighting up the D in the second half the Raps were not able to come back as the Nuggets opened up a 19-point lead early in the third quarter. With the Nuggets going 6 of 12 from 3 in the second hurt a lot because in the other 3 quarters they went 6 of 13 from 3 so they need to work on defending 3-balls a lot better. Former Nuggets Linas Kleiza (26 points with 12 boards along with an assist and a steal) and Leandro Barbosa (22 points with 2 assists along with a board and a steal) were huge keeping game not a 30-point blow out through 3 quarters and Bargnani had a 9 point quarter followed by 6 points over the middle quarters and finished with 9 points in the final quarter and took him til the third quarter to get a board so he needs to be more consistent during the game. The Nuggets without Anthony playing they had Harrington with 31, Nene with 26, and Billups with 21 points took over the game and they out boarded the Raps 21-14 in second half(14-4 in the third) and out assisted 21-13 in the final 3 quarters (Raps only 7 assists in the second half. Now with a home and home with the Detroit Pistons the Raptors need to be much better on defense and defending the 3-ball while sharing the ball more often.

See U Sunday

Game 22 -Bargnani goes off for 41, Amar'e has 18 in the 4Th and Felton gets the bounces

First Quarter

Sunday the Raptors were down 33-18 (-15) after 1 and tonight the Raptors lead 32-28 (+4) so the Raptors have scored 14 more points and given up 5 less points and it starts with 10 assists compared to 3 on Sunday after 1 quarter. The Raptors are shooting 60% and are lead by Andrea Bargnani who has 9 points with 2 assists and 2 boards while Calderon (7 points) and Jerryd Bayless have 2 assists too. Ed Davis has 4 boards and DeMar DeRozan has 3 boards and 4 points as the Raptors have out rebounded 10-8 and out assisted the Knicks 10-5 too and the Knicks are lead by Danilo Gallinari (8 points and 3 boards), Raymond Felton (8 points along with a board and an assist and 2 steals), and Wilson Chandler (7 points and 2 assists). Raptors had a great first quarter and need to continue playing this way in the second quarter and more active hand defense to grow the lead.

Second Quarter

Knicks fans say "boooooooooooo" as the Raptors take a big lead of 13 points with help from Bargnani (10 points with 2 boards and an assist) than the Knicks outscored them by 15 to take a 2 point lead into the second half lead by Raymond Felton (12 points and an assist). The Knicks were also lead by Toni Douglas (7 points and 2 board with a steal), Amar'e Stoudemire (6 points with 4 boards and an assist), and Landy Fields (6 boards and 2 points) while the Knicks out boarded the Raps 18-11. The Raptors were also lead Linas Kleiza (4 points and 4 boards), Jerryd Bayless (4 points and 2 assists), and DeMar DeRozan (3 points) and the Raptors had a 5-3 advantage with assists and the Raps need to get easy shoots by passing the ball and play better defense in the second half to be able to have a chance to win the game.

Third Quarter

The Raptors out assisted the Knicks in the quarter 5-3 (20-11 thr 3) and DeMar (10 points with 2 boards and an assist) lead the Raps while Bargnani kept his hot game going (7 points with 3 assists and 2 boards) while Amir got on the boards(3). The Knicks were lead by Amar'e Stoudemire (8 points and 5 boards and Danillo Gallinari (8 points and 2 boards) as the Knicks out rebounded the Raps 13-11 in the third.

Fourth Quarter

Bounce, bounce, bounce, and in that is how Raymond Felton's 3-ball went into put the Knicks up 103-100 before Andrea Bargnani (15 points in the quarter) tried a very long 3 to tie the game but did not even get to the rim and the Knicks win and have won all 3 of the games aganist the Raps so far. The Raptors had nobody with more than Kleiza ( 4 points and 3 boards) in the quarter besides Bargnani but Calderon did have 3 of the Raps 4 assists and the Knicks were lead by Amar'e Stoudemire (18 points and 5 boards) and besides his winning shot Raymond Felton passed the ball (7 assists) and the Raps got a quick 5 count to get the ball in and it could of factored in and could have given the Raps a better chance of winning.

Final Thought

Andrea Bargnani had his best game as a pro (41 points, 7 boards, and 6 assists) he did a little of everything but Amar'e Stoudemire had 26 of his 34 points in the second half (18 in the final quarter) with 10 boards Raymond Felton's last shot hurt and having 7 of the Knicks's 8 assists in the fourth showed the kind of leader he can be. DeMar DeRozan had a good game (19 points and 5 boards) and the Raps shared the ball as 8 of 9 players had 1 assist and 6 had atleast 2 assists and 6 players had atleast 5 boards but nobody had more than 7 so boards can be worked on but atleast the Knicks had only 8 3's compared to 12 in Sunday game. Finally with a bit better defense this kind of effort will win the Raptors more games than it lose them and the Raptors welcome the Denver Nuggets to the ACC on Friday night.

Thanks

Game 21 - Raptors forgot winning lessons

Toronto Starters
F - Amir Johnson F - Sonny Weems C - Andrea Bargnani
PG - Jose Calderon SG - DeMar DeRozan
Indiana Starters
F - Danny Granger F - Josh McRoberts C - Roy Hibbert
G - Darren Collison G - Mike Dunleavy
First Quarter

The Pacers 20-5 with a 30 seconds left and had 6 turnover so that they are down 31-18 after 1 quarter. Danny Granger had 10 points and 4 boards and Brandon Rush has 7 points off the bench while Josh McRoberts had 3 boards and 3 assists and the Raptors Jose Calderon had 7 points and Amir Johnson have 4 boards and 4 points. The Raptors has 1 assist and are being torched 3 for 6 with 3's and getting out rebounded 16-11 and the Raps need to find their defense and cut into the lead by half and take over the game in the second half.

Second Quarter

The Pacers were 6-9 with 3's and shoot 61% from the floor and the 13 point disadvantage after 1 was doubled until the last and the Raptors are down 24 68 - 44. The Pacers are lead by Bandon Rush with 9 and Danny Granger had 7 points and he had 3 boards along with Mike Dunleavy had 7 points while Josh McRoberts had 3 boards and 2 assists. Leandro Barbosa has 10 points and 2 boards and an assists and Amir had 7 points and 3 boards while Calderon had 5 points. The Raptors have been out assisted by 19-5 and out rebounded 26-19 and if the Raptors want to make a game of it they need to pass the ball, take good shoots, active hands defense, and rebound, rebound, rebound.

Third Quarter

The Pacers only scored 11 points in the first 9 minutes of the quarter but one problem the Raptors were 0 for 5 from the floor to start the quarter and with 3 minutes left the Raptors only had 20 points and were down 15 79-64 and then the Pacers outscored the Raptors 10-2 to end the quarter and were behind 89-67. The Pacers were lead by everybody as nobody had more than 4 points and Mike Dunleavy has 4 boards and have out assisted 24-19 and the Raptors are lead by Sonny Weems had 6 points and it was the only points from the SG or SF and Ed Davis had 4 boards while Bargnani heads into the fourth quarter with only 5 points and 3 boards which can not happen.

Fourth Quarter

It was 12 minutes of garbage time as the Pacers were up 22 after 3 and the Pacers won the game 124-98 and it was a lot of bench players for each team were on the floor for the fourth quarter. For the Raptors Bargnani had 7 of his 12 points in the quarter while Kleiza played the whole quarter and had all of his 12 points in this quarter and Jose Calderon and DeMar DeRozan had 5 points while Kleiza, Dorsey, and Barbosa all came off the bench to all have 3 boards. The Pacers were lead by Darren Collison had 8 points and Brandon Rush had 7 points in the quarter Danny Granger and Roy Hibbert had 2 assists each.

Final Thoughts

The Pacers had more assists 33-16 than the Raptors and the way the Raptors had been winning games before the last 2 days is by passing and sharing the ball and it looks like they have forgotten that lesson as they had only 9 assists in the first three quarters of this game. A big problem in the last 2 games is that the oppenents have been shooting big 3-ball numbers as the Pacers went 13 for 26 and the Knicks went 12 for 27 and also Jose Calderon has not been passing the ball as he only had 4 assists and was 9 for 16 from the feild with 26 points which is the opposite of what he was doing before and he needs to pass before shoot again. Andrea Bargnani showed up for the fourth quarter and he needs to be the guy all game so he needs to get better touches and be in better scoring position and if the Raps can get back to the game plan that helped them win 6 of 8 games they should continue to challenge for a playoff spot but it is still early.

Better luck on Wednesday

18-4 first quarter run by the Knicks beat Raptors in game 20

Starting Lineup
New York (12 - 9) - Toronto (8 - 12)
Amar'e Stoudemire - Amir Johnson
Raymond Felton - Jose Calderon
Wilson Chandler - Andrea Bargnani
Landry Field - Sonny Weems
Danilo Gallinari - DeMar DeRozan

First Quarter

The Raptors are going to have to fight back from a 18-4 Knicks run to go down 33-18 after the first quarter and a big problem in the quarter was only 3 assists and the Knicks knoucked down 3 of their first 4 3-balls. For the Knicks Wilson Chandler had 12 points while Amar'e Stoudemire had 6 points and 6 boards along with Raymond Felton having 7 points and 4 assists and Landry Fields had 7 points with 2 boards and 2 assists. So that the Knicks were do a very good job sharing the ball and spreading the offense around. Jose Calderon has only 1 assist but has 6 points while Bargnani and Johnson have 4 points and 3 boards each and Ed Davis has 3 boards in 5 minutes and the Raptors need to share the ball and play tough active hands defense and cut down on their 5 turnovers in the quarter.

Second Quarter

The Raptors played good defensive at time but were not able to cut into the lead because they would come down and not make a basket and at the end of the quarter Raptors went on a 7-0 run to cut it to 9 but are still down 60-50 at half. The Knicks were lead by Raymond Felton with 6 points and an assist and a board while Amar'e Stoudemire had 6 points and 4 boards (12 pts and 10 reb) and they turned the ball over 7 times in the second. The Raptors had 7 assists lead by Jerryd Bayless with 2 along with 11 points with 2 boards and Amir Johnson had 4 points and 5 rebounds and Ed Davis and Andrei Bargnani has 2 boards each. The Raptors need to have great defense and finish when they have the ball and they can still win the game.

Third Quarter

The Raptors outscored the Knicks 11-2 in 3:30 to get the lead down to 7 82-75 after 3 and Amir Johnson had 10 points and 8 boards in the quarter. Jerryd Bayless 5 points, 2 boards, and 2 assists and Jose Calderon had 2 assists and 4 points and Ed Davis has 2 boards as well. The Knicks are lead by Wilson Chandler with 7 points and Landry Fields has 7 boards and the Knick are not sharing the ball having 8 assists in the last 2 quarters and the Raptors need to take advantage in the fourth.

Fourth Quarter

It was the Amar'e Stoudemire show in the fourth quarter with 15 of 31 points in the game coming in the fourth quarter along with 3 boards and all 7 of his free throw attepts which he made all of them and helped Knicks win the game 116-99. Shawns Williams 14 points (4 for 4 with 3-balls) and 3 rebounds in the quarter would be a monster quarter but nothing compared to Stoudemire's quarter and they combined for 29 of the Knicks's 34 fourth quarter points and Raymond Felton had 2 assist along with Danillo Gallinari. Bargnani had have his points in the quarter with 8 and Jerryd Bayless had 7 points and 3 boards and Amir had 6 points and Ed Davis had a board to give him 8 in the game along with Calderon have half his assists in the quarter with 3.

Final Thought

The Knicks had 7 more points from the free throw line (18-11) and the Raptors had one more attept in the game (22-21) and the Raptors took too many jumpers that were not falling early that put them down big and they could not come back from as they got as close as 5 points in the third quarter but now being 6-2 in their last 8 games and 5-2 in their last 7 home games is good but they need to continue the good play starting again tommorrow aganist the Pacers in Indiana. The Fourth quarter Amer'e was nothing short than just cluch play and the 12 3's were a big 36 points as well and finally Bayless with 23 points and 7 boards and tied for the team lead with 6 assists along with Amir have 22 points and 16 boards was amazing but the off games by Bargnani 16 points (8 in the fourth) and Calderon with 6 assists can not happen. The Raptors are on the road for 2 games now aganist the Pacers (5-4 at home) and a return engagment with Knicks (3-5 at home).

Starting Lineup

Serge Ibaka DeMar DeRozan

First Quarter

The Raptors are sharing the boards with Bargnani, DeMar, and Johnson all have 3 in the quarter and the Raptors have 8 assists with Calderon leading with 4 assists in the quarter and they are playing better defense starting with Ed Davis and his active hands and 2 boards. Bargnani has 10 points and DeMar has 6 points while for the Thunder has equal scoring with Jeff Green with 5 points and 5 players with 4 points for the Thunder Thabo Sefolosha 3 boards and 2 steals and Jeff Green along with Russell Westbrook have 3 boards each. The little bit more defense have a 28-25 lead going into the second quarter with the Raptors shooting 59% and Thunder shooting 48% and if the Raptors can get more active hands defense in the rest of the game should be able to help the Raptors win the game.

Second Quarter

The Thunder played harder in the second quarter with 34-24 in the quarter and out rebounded the Raptors 10-6 lead by Jeff Green with 8 points and James Harden with 7 points along Russell Westbrook having 6 points. The Raptors got a 0 for 5 from Bargnani and 1 point in the quarter but did have 4 boards and Jose Calderon had 3 assists and Barbosa had 10 points in the quarter after 0 in the first and Kleiza had 4 points but a 9-2 run in the last 90 seconds hurt the Raps down 59-52 at half.

Third Quarter

The Raptors equal their 12 first half assists in the third quarter and opened the third on a 17-4 where they lead 69-63 and ended the quarter on a 5-2 run to build it to 9 point lead 86-77 after three. DeMar DeRozan and Sonny Weems had 8 points each while Bargnani had 7 points along with 3 boards (his first double-double of the season) and Amir Johnson had 6 points along with 2 boards. Weems also had 3 boards and Jose Calderon had 8 assists in the quarter (7 in the first half) and only 1 turnover in the game and for the Thunder James Harden had 8 points and lead with 2 boards and Jeff Green had no points until the last minute of the quarter (then made 2 free throws)

Fourth Quarter

The Raptors continued going hard and got it up to 14 points early and went back and forth the rest of the quarter to win the game by 12, 111-99 Leandro Barbosa equaled his first three quarters with his 11 points with a board and 2 steals while Bargnani had 8 points and 2 boards. Kleiza and Johnson both had 3 boards in the quarter and for the Thunder Russell Westbrook had 6 points and 2 boards.

Final Thoughts

The Raptors shared the ball especially in the third quarter and Jose Calderon lead by example with 15 assists and showed everybody what a good PG is suppost to do and helped the Raptors outscore the Thunder 59-40 in the second half. Andrei Bargnani lead the team with 12 boards and got his first double-double of the season and he should be doing both more often especially with Evans out for 8 weeks and Amir Johnson had 9 boards and could have had more if he did not get in foul trouble with 5 fouls and Barbosa (22 points) was a great No.2 scorer next to Bargnani (26 points). The Raptors got a little lucky not having to face Kevin Durant who did not play in this game and the Raptors are 6-4 at home and they started 1-3 at home so recently they have been playing at home the way they need to.

Go Raptors Go

John Wall had 9 points and 3 assists and Cartier Martain had 6 points along with Andray Blatche having 6 boards in the quarter.

Final Thoughts

The Raptors having 62 points in the paint and 27 fast break points helped the Raptors win the game and it hopefully shows the team the way to win most games which is working the ball inside-out as they were also 6 for 11 with 3-balls which is created by open 3-balls. The 56 bench points is a good sign as the Raptors shared the scoring and shared the ball with 28 assists on 51 baskets and DeMar leading with 20 points is a first in weeks and 6 players over 15 points is a strong effort. Rookie Ed Davis having a 11 points and 6 boards is a good starting point for a player in his first ever NBA game and 52 boards lead by Bargnani and Dorsey with 8 each is a good result and Calderon having 8 assists and only 1 turnover is what you want from your point guard. In the end it was a good game plan aganist a not so good opponent and if they keep this style of play and bring it for the rest of the season they could surprise some teams and make the playoff the hoop will it be possible.
