Why did the Raptors do the trade for Peja Stojakovic and Jerryd Bayless

The Raptors traded Macrus Banks, David Anderson, and Jarrett Jack for Peja

Stojakovic and Jerryd Bayless and some money to even out the books. The

reason that the trade was made is because for Raptors it gives them

another chance to rebuild through free agency as the Raptors will have a

lot of extra money to spend next July. What the Raptors do in free agency

will make or break the deal eventhough Jerryd Bayless should be with the

Raptors for a few years and what will make or break him with the Raptors

is if he can learn to pass the ball. As right now when Jerryd Bayless is

on the court he is looking for his own shot and the Raptors do not need to

have a point guard who shoots first and pass second because the point

guard needs to start the idea of sharing the ball. The Raptors right now

are a good team but with a Chris Bosh trade exception of 12.2 million and

maybe even more trades later of maybe someone like Jose Calderon and the

25 million for free agency next year will be amazing if used properly and

if not Bryan Colangelo will be looking for a new job sometime during the

next season.
